Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry codes and client specifications.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for welding processes and equipment on the manufacturing floor.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and automation for new projects and continuous improvement.
• Perform welder qualification testing and maintain certification records for production personnel.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and optimize joint designs for manufacturing.
• Implement and manage welding quality control plans, including inspection and testing methodologies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and metallurgy within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and other relevant welding codes and standards.
• Proven experience in developing and qualifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Proficiency in failure analysis, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions related to welding defects.
