EHS Manager | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular EHS risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations for accidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, implementing corrective actions.
• Design and deliver effective EHS training programs for all employees.
• Manage all EHS record-keeping, reporting, and permit applications.
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal/state EHS regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to influence EHS culture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience managing EHS across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
• Proficiency with advanced EHS software platforms for data analytics and reporting.
