Salary Range: $61,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Kalamazoo seeking Tool Room Supervisors who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
• Manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all tools.
• Supervise and train tool room technicians, fostering a skilled and safety-conscious team.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
• Ensure all safety protocols and quality standards are met for tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate with production to ensure timely availability of tools for manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a tool room environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials (e.g., CNC milling, grinding, EDM).
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and troubleshooting toolroom equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring and team development.
• Proficiency in using metrology equipment for precision measurement and quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and fabrication.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior technicians.
