Tool Room Supervisor | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $64,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train tool room personnel on safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling and precision measuring equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring optimal stock levels.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for tooling and machinery.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address tooling issues and support new product development.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for all manufactured and repaired tooling.
• Optimize tool room processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in tool and die making or a related precision machining field.
• 2+ years experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Strong knowledge of various machining processes (milling, turning, grinding, EDM) and associated equipment.
• Experience with CNC programming and operation.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve tooling and production issues efficiently.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and fabrication.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish or Mandarin.
• Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
