Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Norton Shores that are seeking Weld Technicians. Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using various techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) to fabricate and repair components.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures.
• Inspect welded joints and structures for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and internal specifications.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and other tools, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions to optimize weld quality and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to develop and improve welding processes and product designs.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, weld inspection techniques, and quality control procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• AWS CWI or CWI-Associate certification
• Experience with robotic welding systems
• Proficiency in interpreting and creating WPS documents
• Familiarity with NDT methods such as UT, MT, or PT
• CAD software experience (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
