Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to production for welding-related issues and process improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and automation for manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and cost-effectiveness of products.
  • Perform internal audits and ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, specifications, and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
  • Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).
  • Experience with weld procedure qualification and welder performance qualification.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical analysis and failure investigation related to welded components.
