Salary Range: $84,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry standards.
• Provide technical support and expertise to production for welding-related issues and improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and robotic systems.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize weldability and joint design.
• Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, specifications, and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification.
• Proficient in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) and their applications.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material science, and their impact on weld quality.
• Experience with weld design, procedure development, and qualification (WPQ/PQR).

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with robotic welding systems and programming.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond visual inspection.
• Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis of weldments.
• Certifications from AWS (American Welding Society) beyond CWI, such as CWE or CWS.
• Working knowledge of metallurgy and material science related to welding.
