Salary Range: $63,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Ludington seeking Tool and Die Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new dies, tools, and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain existing dies and tooling.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to create precision components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and dies to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues during production.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
• 3-5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of various metals, their properties, and machining characteristics
• Ability to operate a variety of manual and CNC machining equipment

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced CNC programming (e.g., 5-axis machining, G-code optimization)
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software beyond basic modeling (e.g., surfacing, complex assembly design, simulation)
• Knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques using CMMs or laser scanners
• Experience with additive manufacturing/3D printing for tooling prototypes or specialized components
• Strong understanding of automation principles and robotics as they apply to manufacturing processes
