Salary Range: $59,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Jenison that are seeking skilled Tool and Die Makers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Design and build new tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
• Repair and maintain existing tooling to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to stamping dies and other production tooling.
• Perform precision grinding, milling, turning, and EDM operations.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to produce components with tight tolerances.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and machinery to minimize downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in Tool and Die Making or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manual and CNC machining equipment
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties
• Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling and die issues

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor)
• Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and programming (G-code)
• Certification in a specialized area (e.g., EDM, jig grinding)
• Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication tasks
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
