Quality Technician | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, final, and first article inspections of manufactured products and components.
• Utilize various metrology equipment and inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM, to verify product specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately, maintaining detailed quality records and logs.
• Identify, isolate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate containment actions.
• Assist in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct routine calibration checks and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure product compliance.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpreting technical blueprints.
• Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC) concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to accurately document findings and non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or demonstrated experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with CMM programming or advanced statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
• Internal auditing experience (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Advanced proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
