Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize tooling for manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues and failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis for tooling performance problems and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams on new product development and tooling requirements.
• Manage tooling maintenance schedules, repairs, and inventory.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tooling components.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling efficiency and lifespan.
• Specify, procure, and qualify new tooling equipment and suppliers.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, or machining.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve tooling performance and lifespan.
• Knowledge of materials science, heat treatment, and surface coatings for tool steels.
• Experience with GD&T, metrology, and quality control principles related to tooling.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or mold flow simulation software.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Practical experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Understanding of automation and robotics integration in tooling systems.
