EHS Manager | Kalamazoo, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and company standards.
• Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Manage and investigate all EHS incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, identifying root causes and preventive measures.
• Develop and deliver effective EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Oversee hazardous waste management, environmental permits, and sustainability initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and foster a strong safety culture across the manufacturing facility.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cultural change.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) or ability to obtain.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar continuous improvement certification.
• Proficiency with EHS management software (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera).
• ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
