Salary Range: $50,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes) according to job specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate part production.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Adjust machine offsets, tooling, and programs to maintain part quality and optimize production efficiency.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from machines, ensuring proper fixturing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, operational issues, or quality discrepancies.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventative checks.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and G-code/M-code programs.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and various material properties.
  • Ability to perform in-process quality checks and troubleshoot machining issues.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
  • Experience operating CMMs or other advanced metrology equipment
  • Ability to perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with CAD software for fixture design or part modification
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
