Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Specify, procure, install, and qualify new laser welding equipment and tooling.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects.
- Establish and maintain process parameters, work instructions, and quality control plans for laser welding.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laser welding systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laser weld quality, efficiency, and yield.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial laser welding processes (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG, diode) for various metal alloys.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and weldability of common manufacturing materials.
- Proven ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot laser welding parameters and processes for production environments.
- Experience with laser welding system integration, beam delivery optics, fixturing design, and quality inspection methods.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic integration and programming for automated laser welding cells.
- Proficiency in advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection (e.g., CT, ultrasonic).
- Familiarity with weld simulation software (e.g., FEA) for process optimization and distortion prediction.
- Strong background in statistical process control (SPC) or Six Sigma methodologies for quality improvement.
- Experience with specialized materials (e.g., medical alloys, aerospace superalloys) or dissimilar material welding.
