Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Conduct packaging material selection, testing, and validation to ensure product protection and compliance.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through material optimization, process improvements, and standardization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) on packaging requirements and implementation.
• Manage packaging supplier relationships, including sourcing, qualification, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure all packaging designs meet regulatory, safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
• Troubleshoot packaging-related issues on the production line and in the field.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in packaging development, design, or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, glass) and industry testing standards (e.g., ISTA).
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design and specification.
• Demonstrated ability to manage packaging projects from concept through production launch.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) certification
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable packaging design principles and materials
• Experience with packaging line automation or robotics integration
