Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Oversee welding operations, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting to welding personnel.
• Conduct welding-related quality control, including inspections, testing, and root cause analysis of defects.
• Implement and maintain welding standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Train and mentor welders and technicians on best practices, new technologies, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of products.
• Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve manufacturing capabilities.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, joint design, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
• Experience with welding automation and robotics.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills related to weld defects and quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with advanced welding processes like electron beam welding or friction stir welding.
• - Proficiency in welding simulation software (e.g., SYSWELD, Simufact Welding).
• - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) credentials.
• - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to welding operations.
• - Experience with robotics and automation in welding applications.
