Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair complex tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using precision machining techniques.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to create tooling with tight tolerances.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure tooling meets quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling performance and functionality during production runs.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain detailed records of tool fabrication, repair, and maintenance activities.
• Select appropriate materials and heat treatment processes for tooling applications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool and die making, including machining, grinding, and assembly.
• Proficiency with manual and CNC machining equipment (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM).
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and tooling materials.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to tool and die fabrication and repair.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and techniques.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC programming and operation
• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design
• - Knowledge of heat treatment processes for tool steels
• - Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
• - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
