Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for optimal machining processes.
  • Determine and optimize cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut parameters.
  • Perform program simulations and dry runs to verify tool paths and prevent collisions.
  • Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot programming issues and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain and organize a comprehensive library of CNC programs and related documentation.
  • Ensure all CNC programs adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and blueprint specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
  • Strong understanding and application of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with machine setup, tooling selection, and fixturing for CNC milling operations.
  • Knowledge of various machining processes, materials, and cutting tool geometries.
  • Proven ability to optimize programs for efficiency, quality, and material removal rates.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-axis (4-axis or 5-axis) machining programming.
  • Proficiency in G-code editing and optimization at the machine control.
  • Familiarity with machine simulation software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL).
  • Experience in fixture design or custom tooling solutions.
