Salary Range: $77,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software/firmware for manufacturing machinery and control systems.
  • Integrate embedded systems with existing production lines, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to embedded hardware and software on the factory floor.
  • Optimize real-time performance, reliability, and efficiency of embedded systems in a production environment.
  • Implement and maintain industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET) for automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, production) to define system requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for embedded systems and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded firmware development.
  • Experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and their peripherals.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Ability to debug complex hardware/software issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, SPI, I2C).
  • Familiarity with hardware design principles and ability to read schematics.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET)
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) principles
  • Experience developing automated test fixtures or production programming tools for embedded devices
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems and their integration with embedded hardware
