Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training programs for all employees.
• Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform risk assessments and develop control measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
• Maintain and update EHS programs, policies, and procedures relevant to manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal management.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and training.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and risk assessments.
• Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CHMM are highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to EHS processes.
• Experience with EHS management information systems (e.g., Gensuite, Intelex, Sphera).
• HAZWOPER certification or experience in emergency response planning and management.
• Experience conducting industrial hygiene monitoring (e.g., noise, air quality, ergonomics assessments).
