The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate quantities.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to optimize material flow.
• Resolve supplier performance issues, including quality, delivery, and cost discrepancies.
• Research market trends and new technologies to identify potential supply chain improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for purchasing, inventory management, and production planning.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Proven track record of cost reduction initiatives and supply chain optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with supplier development or auditing processes.
• Certification in purchasing (e.g., CPSM) or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in international sourcing, import/export regulations, or global logistics.
• Experience with advanced features or optimization of ERP/MRP systems.
