Quality Technician | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $42,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished products.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product specifications.
  • Document inspection results, create quality reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials, initiating non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues.
  • Support the calibration program for inspection and test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and company procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or assurance role.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical specifications, including GD&T.
  • Basic understanding of quality principles, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with CMM operation or programming.
  • Internal auditing experience (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
