Salary Range: $73,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify tooling, fixtures, and molds for manufacturing processes.
• Optimize existing tooling for improved performance, efficiency, and extended lifespan.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues, including wear, breakage, and dimensional inaccuracies.
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance, repair, and refurbishment activities for all tooling assets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and quality teams to define tooling specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate and implement new tooling technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance capabilities.
• Ensure all tooling meets quality standards, safety regulations, and production specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong understanding of tooling design, fabrication, and maintenance principles for manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) for tooling design and analysis.
• Knowledge of tool steels, carbides, and other materials, including their properties and heat treatment processes.
• Proven ability to diagnose tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Experience managing tooling projects from concept to launch, including vendor coordination and budgeting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or mold flow simulation software.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software.
