Shop Manager | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $88,000 - $134,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop floor operations, ensuring efficient production flow and adherence to schedules.
• Manage and mentor a team of production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage the procurement of raw materials and supplies.
• Maintain equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
• Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and sales, to meet production goals.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes and quality control.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management and supply chain principles.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
• - Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
• - Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
• - Strong negotiation skills for vendor management
