Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations using various techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to join metal components according to specifications.
  • Inspect welds for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and blueprints.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and deburring.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, including torches, power sources, and safety gear.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common welding issues to maintain production flow.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Document welding activities, including materials used, settings, and inspection results.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience with various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining welding equipment and related tools.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and regulations.
  • Experience with quality control and inspection techniques for welds.

Bonus Qualifications

  • - Certified welding inspector (CWI) or similar certification
  • - Experience with automated welding systems (e.g., robotic welding, seam welding)
  • - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology
  • - Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints
  • - Experience with statistical process control (SPC) for welding quality
