Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize welding processes to ensure product quality and efficiency.
• Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and quality control standards.
• Troubleshoot welding-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and techniques for manufacturing applications.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new technologies.
• Conduct performance testing and qualification of welding procedures and welders.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of components.
• Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in welding process selection, development, and optimization for manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW, SAW, Laser, Resistance) and their applications.
• Proficiency in welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their interpretation.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic, laser, electron beam)
• - Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) techniques for metals
• - Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation
• - Certification in specific welding processes or materials (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector - CWI)
• - Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
