Salary Range: $78,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshooting issues and optimizing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and materials based on project requirements and material properties.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Train and mentor welding personnel on best practices, safety procedures, and new technologies.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for manufacturability through welding.
• Manage welding consumables inventory and procurement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
• Proven experience in welding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW, resistance welding) and their applications.
• Proficiency in welding metallurgy, material science, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Experience with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO) and their application in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic welding, laser welding).
• - Familiarity with advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application to welding operations.
• - Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CWE).
• - Experience with welding simulation software.
