Staff Accountant | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
• - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• - Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
• - Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• - Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory valuation.
• - Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
• - Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• - Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and their application to manufacturing cost accounting.
• Experience with inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations, and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with inventory costing methods (e.g., standard costing, FIFO, LIFO).
• - Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• - Understanding of cost accounting principles and variance analysis.
• - Experience with internal control procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• - Basic knowledge of production planning and scheduling processes.
