Staff Accountant | Mason, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, meeting established deadlines.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments.
• Participate in inventory valuation and cost accounting activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather information and resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal controls and accounting procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems specifically for manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• - Familiarity with inventory costing methods (e.g., standard costing, FIFO, LIFO).
• - Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and their impact on financial statements.
• - Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules for manufacturing equipment.
• - Understanding of bill of materials (BOM) and its role in cost accounting.
