Salary Range: $67,000 - $106,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products, ensuring product integrity and market appeal.
• Conduct testing and validation of packaging materials and designs to ensure performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvements in packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain) to integrate packaging into product development.
• Manage packaging projects from concept through commercialization, including timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
• Research, evaluate, and implement sustainable packaging materials and practices to meet environmental goals.
• Troubleshoot packaging-related issues on production lines and provide technical support to manufacturing operations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and knowledge of various packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, glass, metal).
• Demonstrated understanding of packaging test methods (e.g., ISTA, ASTM) and supply chain considerations.
• Proven ability to design, test, and implement cost-effective and sustainable packaging solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Demonstrated experience with sustainable packaging design and materials.
• Familiarity with automated packaging equipment and end-of-line robotics.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) for packaging performance.
