Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Select appropriate packaging materials considering product protection, cost, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of packaging designs to ensure integrity, shelf life, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams to integrate packaging requirements.
• Manage packaging projects from concept through production, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
• Ensure all packaging complies with relevant industry standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for packaging processes and materials to reduce waste and optimize costs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and packaging design/optimization tools.
• Strong knowledge of various packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and packaging machinery.
• Familiarity with packaging industry standards (e.g., ISTA) and regulatory requirements.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Expertise in sustainable packaging materials, design for recyclability, or circular economy principles.
• Proficiency with advanced packaging design software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS) or simulation tools.
• Familiarity with packaging line automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Prior experience in a highly regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or food & beverage.
