Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling machines.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for various materials.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and collision avoidance.
  • Collaborate with machinists and manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and refine machining processes.
  • Maintain and update CNC program libraries and related documentation.
  • Perform post-processing of CAM data to generate machine-specific G-code.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience in CNC mill programming.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
  • Expertise in G-code and M-code programming, including manual editing and optimization.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • In-depth knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machining processes for diverse materials.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis programming.
  • Proficiency in fixture design for CNC machining.
  • Experience with post-processor development or editing.
  • Knowledge of CMM programming or advanced GD&T application.
