Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and technical specifications.
• Load raw material stock and unload finished components from the machine.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Adjust machine offsets and tooling to maintain part quality and dimensions.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss Lathes.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, interpreting GD&T, and using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators).
• Ability to perform tooling changes, adjust offsets, and execute minor program edits (G-code/M-code).
• Strong understanding of machining principles, material properties, and quality control procedures.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting common machine issues to ensure optimal performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Ability to program or significantly modify G-code directly at the machine control.
• Experience operating advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator with software).
• Proven ability to optimize tooling and machining processes for efficiency and tool life.
• Basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for program review or generation.
