Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, overhead, and sub-contractor costs for manufacturing projects.
• Prepare detailed and competitive quotes for prospective and existing customers.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to gather necessary information.
• Source and obtain pricing from suppliers for raw materials and outsourced services.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information and supplier pricing.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly) and their associated material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost data analysis.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for design review and manufacturability assessment.
• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
