Salary Range: $63,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Zeeland region seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates - not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Usual Responsibilities

• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the plant floor to identify safety and environmental hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and document root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain and update EHS records, permits, and regulatory reports.
• Lead new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training sessions.
• Coordinate inspections and audits with outside agencies and internal teams.
• Track corrective actions from audits and inspections through to closure.
• Support air, water, and waste compliance activities and monitor permit limits.
• Respond to employee safety concerns and help resolve them promptly.

Recommended Qualifications

• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for training and reporting.
• Proficiency with EHS data systems and standard office software.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational safety, engineering, or a related field.
• Two or more years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Bonus Qualifications

• Background in industrial hygiene sampling or exposure assessments.
• Experience leading safety committees or behavior-based safety programs.
• Certified Safety Professional or similar certification.
• Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems.
• Familiarity with Michigan DEQ reporting requirements.
