Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and builds intricate tooling, dies, and fixtures.
• Operates a variety of machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.
• Interprets blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to determine part specifications.
• Performs precision measuring using instruments like micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Troubleshoots and repairs existing tooling to maintain production efficiency.
• Selects appropriate materials and heat treatments for tooling components.
• Collaborates with engineers and production staff to optimize tooling designs and processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in Tool and Die Making or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in the design, fabrication, and repair of progressive dies, compound dies, and fixtures
• Proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application
• Expertise in operating various manual and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs
• Demonstrated ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) for design and programming.
• Experience with advanced machining techniques (e.g., EDM, laser cutting).
• Familiarity with metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators) for quality inspection.
• Ability to interpret and work with GD&T specifications.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
