Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and robotic systems.
• Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure weldability and optimize product designs.
• Establish and maintain welding quality standards and inspection protocols.
• Research and implement new welding technologies and materials to improve efficiency and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their applications.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for welding defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods beyond visual inspection.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE).
• Proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis of weldments.
• Knowledge of advanced materials and their weldability characteristics.
