Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Hudsonville that are seeking Welding Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry codes and client specifications.
- Provide technical support and expertise to production, quality, and engineering teams on welding-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects and non-conformances.
- Evaluate and select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various applications.
- Oversee welder qualification and certification programs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weld designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding processes and metallurgy.
- AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) or equivalent certification.
- Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
- Strong understanding of welding codes, standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX), and quality control procedures.
- Experience with root cause analysis, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and material characterization.
Bonus Qualifications
- AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for fixture design and analysis.
- Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
