Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs and components using CAD software.
• Conduct engineering analysis, simulations (e.g., FEA), and calculations to validate design performance and manufacturability.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth transition to production.
• Prototype, test, and validate new designs and design improvements, documenting results.
• Identify and implement design improvements for cost reduction, performance enhancement, and ease of assembly.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material science, and stress analysis.
• Proven experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) for manufacturability.
• Ability to apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) for design automation or data analysis.
• Experience with advanced simulation techniques (e.g., CFD, Moldflow, kinematic analysis) beyond basic FEA.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience with process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes and design for AM.
