Salary Range: $69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine mechanical designs for manufacturing products and components.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings with specifications.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for design projects.
  • Conduct design analysis for manufacturability, assembly, and cost-effectiveness (DFM/DFA).
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new product designs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Resolve design-related issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing) and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Knowledge of material science, selection, and properties relevant to mechanical design and manufacturing applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles (mechanics, kinematics, stress analysis) to design and optimize components and assemblies.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and creating detailed technical drawings for production.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal, machining).
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Design for Manufacturability (DFM) methodologies.
  • Hands-on prototyping or assembly experience.
