Quality Technician | Rockford, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished products against specifications and blueprints.
• Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify product conformity.
• Document inspection results, non-conformances, and maintain accurate quality records and reports.
• Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for quality issues and customer complaints.
• Assist with the calibration, maintenance, and verification of inspection and test equipment.
• Conduct product and process audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification in quality or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with quality control methodologies such as SPC, root cause analysis, and non-conformance reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Technician)
• Experience with CMM or vision system programming
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Previous experience with calibration of measurement equipment
