Salary Range: $56,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Rapids that are seeking skilled Staff Accountants. Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and analyze journal entries for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.
• - Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts.
• - Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• - Support the accounting team in inventory valuation and cost accounting activities.
• - Prepare and review variance analysis for manufacturing expenses and cost of goods sold.
• - Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• - Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• - Collaborate with operations and production teams to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise) and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis
• - Knowledge of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Weighted-Average)
• - Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance in a manufacturing environment
