Staff Accountant | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• - Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
• - Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• - Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, adhering to established deadlines.
• - Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment application.
• - Participate in inventory costing and valuation, including variance analysis.
• - Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• - Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• - Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory valuation, variance analysis, and standard costing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)
• - Familiarity with cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods
• - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and their impact on financial reporting
• - Certification such as CPA, CMA, or CPIM
