Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Oversee welding operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance to welding personnel.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Conduct welding quality control inspections and tests, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Train and mentor welders on new techniques, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize weldments for efficiency and performance.
• Research and evaluate new welding technologies and materials to improve manufacturing processes.
• Manage welding-related documentation, including WPS, PQR, and inspection records.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Welding Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS) and qualifying welders (WPQ) according to industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).
• Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their applications in manufacturing.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results for weld quality assurance.
• Proficiency in welding metallurgy, material science, and heat treatment processes related to weldability.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with automated welding processes (e.g., robotic welding, submerged arc welding).
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation.
• - Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CWE).
• - Knowledge of metallurgy and material science relevant to welding.
• - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
