Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist | Allegan, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approval, and matching to purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wires) for approved vendor invoices.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices based on sales orders and shipping documents.
• Apply customer payments accurately and timely to open invoices, reconciling discrepancies.
• Perform collections activities for past-due customer accounts, communicating effectively to resolve payment issues.
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations for AP and AR.
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer master data within the ERP system.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and AP/AR processes.
• Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data entry and reconciliation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with vendors, customers, and internal departments.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with enterprise-level ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles within a manufacturing environment
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
• Experience with inventory management and reconciliation processes
