IATF Quality Engineer | Ludington, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the IATF 16949 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
• Lead and participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5 Why).
• Conduct internal IATF 16949 audits and support external certification audits.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to establish and monitor process controls, including Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier audits and corrective action verification.
• Develop and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and practical application experience of IATF 16949 standard requirements.
• Proven proficiency in Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Strong background in root cause analysis and and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Experience conducting internal and external quality audits, with a preference for certified auditors.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Quality) or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• Proficiency in statistical software like Minitab for advanced data analysis (e.g., SPC, MSA, DOE)
• Experience with multiple OEM Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) (e.g., GM, Ford, Stellantis, VW)
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
