Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering specifications.
• Utilize and program various precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, and micrometers.
• Interpret and apply complex engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and industry standards.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation.
• Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances and discrepancies to relevant departments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve first article issues.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained according to procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and programming various precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
• Proven experience in conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) and generating comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102 standards.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or precision machining.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and ability to apply quality control principles.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean/Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.
• Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab) or advanced CAD viewing tools.
• Experience with advanced metrology techniques (e.g., laser scanning, CT scanning).
• Ability to train or mentor junior inspectors on FAI best practices.
