Commercial Construction Superintendent – Bloomington, IN

Our client, a growing Bloomington-based construction company, is seeking experienced commercial Construction Superintendent to join their team. This position will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on commercial field superintendent experience, including site development.
• Experience with
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents (architectural, structural, mechanical, specifications, etc.).
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and electronic scheduling software.
• Experience managing projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise all construction activities, staff, and subcontractors.
• Set up and maintain an organized, clean job site and construction office/trailer.
• Direct field personnel to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain construction schedules; identify and resolve issues that may affect schedule or costs.
• Order materials, manage lead times, and schedule inspections as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA Safety and Loss Control Program, promote safe work practices, and immediately address hazards. Conduct weekly Tool Box Talks.
• Maintain weekly schedule meetings with vendors and subcontractors to project the upcoming three weeks' work expectations.

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Commercial construction: 7 years (Required)
• Commercial Superintendent: 5 years (Required)
• Superintendent on commercial projects in excess of $10M: 1 year (Preferred)
• Supervised general laborers and trades?: 3 years (Preferred)
• Supervised subcontractors: 3 years (Preferred)
• Superintendent on K-12 projects: 1 year (Preferred)
• Superintendent on industrial project: 1 year (Preferred)
• Superintendent on healthcare projects: 1 year (Preferred)
• Superintendent on higher education projects: 1 year (Preferred)
• Superintendent on municipal projects: 1 year (Preferred)
• Superintendent on hotel project: 1 year (Preferred)
