Duty Free Manager

Duty-Free Manager Regional Airport, UAE

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Duty-Free Manager to oversee the daily operations and strategic growth of duty-free retail at a regional airport in the United Arab Emirates. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team and play a key part in shaping the commercial success of airport retail operations.

Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the duty-free retail area, ensuring excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.

• Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and enhance the overall customer experience.

• Manage a team of approximately 19 staff, with a focus on performance, training, and team development.

• Oversee all aspects of visual merchandising, stock control, inventory management, and logistics coordination.

• Collaborate with internal departments including Finance and Procurement to align retail operations with business goals.

• Implement and maintain point-of-sale (POS) systems and ensure compliance with airport and regulatory policies.

• Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure adherence to governance and policy standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 years experience managing retail operations, preferably within a duty-free or multi-brand retail environment (e.g., Carrefour or similar large-scale retailers).

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams in a high-traffic environment.

• Demonstrated ability in sales management, operational planning, and retail performance improvement.

• High ethical standards with a strong understanding of governance and compliance requirements.

• Experience in implementing systems and managing inventory and logistics processes.
