Our client is seeking a skilled and adaptable Cloud Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining cloud-native systems while staying on top of emerging technologies and adapting to evolving requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment, implementing new products and technologies to enhance the system's capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain cloud-native systems, ensuring they meet performance and security standards.
  • Adapt to evolving requirements and integrate emerging technologies to improve system functionality.
  • Work with cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, automated installations and configurations.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system efficiency.
  • Design and execute system backup plans.
  • Develop, debug, and enhance scripts in languages such as bash, csh, Perl, Ruby, Python, and expect.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve system workflows.
  • Provide training to team members on system maintenance duties.
  • Manage and administer source code control systems (e.g., CVS, Subversion, Git).
  • Utilize cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Gluster, and Ceph.

Must Haves:

  • Clearance: TS or higher
  • Degree: Highly preferred (mid to senior-level candidate)
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-native environments in AWS
  • Proficiency in creating and building AWS services such as EC2, VPC, etc.
  • Strong experience with Linux
  • Scripting experience in any Linux languages
  • Kubernetes: High preference

Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience with Docker, Gluster, Ceph, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Familiarity with automated OS and cloud infrastructure installation.
  • Knowledge of system security, hardening, and accreditation (e.g., DCID 6/3, ICD-503).


Location: Fairfax, VA or Denver, CO


Salary: $130K - $210K
